Cinnamon Roll Turkeys

Cinnamon Roll Turkeys are a new family tradition at Thanksgiving!

Kick off Thanksgiving with these adorable cinnamon roll turkeys! Whether you’re turkey trotting or just watching the parade on the couch, these turkeys are quick and easy to make, because we’re already doing enough cooking on Thanksgiving.

These turkeys couldn’t be easier!  All you need are refrigerated cinnamon rolls (Pillsbury Grands! were our pick), bacon, candy eyes and candy corn.

Bake cinnamon rolls as directed and as you place them on your baking sheet, unroll just the outer layer then roll back up so you have a nice slit to stick the bacon strips into.

Cook your bacon till crisp, whether that’s in the oven at 400°F for 18-20 minutes or in the fry pan. You need the bacon to be a little bit crispy to stand up and act as feathers. And if you’re really into shortcuts, you can use pre-cooked bacon – I won’t tell!

Add the icing to your cinnamon rolls when they come out of the oven, insert your bacon strips as feathers and add your candy eyes and candy corn for the face!

Serve warm.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Cinnamon Rolls, refrigerated (Pillsbury Grands! recommended)
  • 1 package bacon
  • candy eyes
  • candy corn

Instructions

  1. Bake cinnamon rolls per package instructions. When placing cinnamon rolls on baking sheet, unroll just the outer layer of the cinnamon roll, then roll back up, creating a slit to insert the bacon.

  2. While the cinnamon rolls bake, cook the bacon till crisp. Crispy bacon stands up better as feathers for the turkeys.

  3. Add icing to your cinnamon rolls when they come out of the oven.

  4. Cut crispy bacon strips in half and insert bacon strips into the outer layer of the cinnamon roll. Two full strips of bacon yields 4 feathers which felt like a good number.

  5. Add candy eyeballs and a candy corn to each cinnamon roll to make your turkey!

  6. Serve warm. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Cook bacon till crisp so your turkey feathers stand up.
