Pretzel Mummy Dogs are a must for any Halloween celebration! They each have their own delicious little personalities!
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Add 2/3 cup baking soda to 10 cups of water and bring to a boil.
On a lightly floured surface, divide pizza dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long snake, approximately 18-24" in length (you don't have to measure but if you were curious!)
Wrap each hot dog with a dough snake, leaving a little space at the top for the mummy eyes. Ensure the dough is connected on the back of the the dog, otherwise you'll have a random strand of dough floating away from your dog.
Drop dogs 2 at a time into the baking soda bath. Remove after approx. 30 seconds and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
When all the dogs are out of the bath, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with salt.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until pretzels are golden brown.
Use a toothpick to add mustard eyes. Serve warm.
Make sure the dough connects to each other, otherwise you'll have dough floating away from your dog.
Sesame seeds could also be used for eyes.
These are fun to dip in various sauces - my taste-testers preferred mustard, fry sauce (equal parts mayo and ketchup) and ranch dressing.
